The French delegation and Olmix’s representatives shared their concerns about the pork industry in Asia in a current context of the African Swine Fever.
Last Monday, 21th October, Olmix Group had the great honour to host several members of the CPPR (Coopérative des Producteurs de Porcs de la Réunion, France) at the company’s production facilities in the province of Bình Dương, which has been operating contributing to a healthier livestock development in Asia since 2017.
After a corporate presentation where the Olmix Group’s philosophy, technologies and global approach were brought up for discussion, other topics such as the animal production industry in Vietnam and specially the current situation of the country’s pork business within a context of African Swine Fever were also under the spotlight.
“Swine producers are suffering the consequences of the ASF in many territories in Asia. That is why we now it is of utmost importance that we follow exhaustive prevention, bio-exclusion and bio-security measures to tackle one of the biggest challenges in the recent years. The human factor will be determinant to solve this issue.” Michel Guillaume, Olmix Group’s Technical Director in Asia.
The visit ended up with a visit to the factory, which is part of the Olmix’s strategy to better adapt the Group’s algae-based solutions to local situations in order to move towards a global goal: feeding 9 billion people by 2050 in a sustainable way.
We would like to thank Mr. Henri Lebon, Chairman of the Supervisory Board; Mr. Jean-Emile Fontaine, Chairman of the Management Board; Mr. Guy Core, General Director; Mr. Hoarau Vital, Director; Ms. Virginie Goraud and all the other members of the delegation for their visit and great interest.
