Olmix organized a two-day technical seminar in Surabaya and Jakarta to present its latests innovations in animal nutrition and to officially launch MFeed+ in the country.
It did not take much time for Olmix to step up into the Indonesian market to make the first major announcement of 2018: MFeed+, Olmix’s natural feed additive based on Olmix’s patented Algae and Clay, has been officially launched in the country.
To celebrate this release, the Olmix team in Asia hosted a two-day technical seminar in the cities of Jakarta and Surabaya (Indonesia) on the 22nd and 23rd January to provide its customers and partners with the latest updates on the market trends and to share some key information on the global supplies of feed ingredients for animal production.
Thus, the Olmix Seminar on Nutrition counted on the participation of 4 world-reputed experts in animal nutrition that delivered several high-level lectures to an audience of 80 invitees from the some of the biggest animal feed companies in Indonesia.
First, to open the act −the programme was the same for the 2 days of the seminar-, Dr Budi Tangendjaja, from the Export Council and US Grains Council, gave a presentation on the supply of feed ingredient with references to the Indonesian market, which highlighted the differences between several countries in the world in terms of food and agriculture resources:
Dr Budi Tangendjaja: “Update Global Supply of Feed Ingredient of Animal Feeding”.
After Dr Tangendjaja’s speech, it was time for MFeed+ to come into scene. Ms Marie Gallissot, Olmix’s For Feed Specialist, took the lead to present the benefits of the Olmix’s natural feed additive through a lecture entitled ‘Innovative Technology to Improve Digestibility, Thanks to Algae!’:
“Manufacters need to invest in feed efficiency improvement in order to compensate for the additional cost of raw materials. Hence, the more expensive the feed, the more important to invest in feed efficiency! Therefore, MFeed+ is a must when it comes to this matter. MFeed+ is an optimal solution based on Olmix’s patented Algae and Clay. The good result via trials of MFeed+ help to confirm that it increases the contact between enzymes and substrate, increases the activity of enzymes and helps to get better digestion and more nutrients for absorption”, she explained.

To close the conference programme, Mr Maarten Jay van Schoonhoven, Olmix Group’s Aqua Care Manager, took up the torch to provide the audience with some key points on the role of enzymes in aquaculture feed:
“Many microbial/fungal enzyme products available in the market are made for the livestock market and now also promoted for use in aquaculture feed. There are two main reasons to use enzymes: first, enzymes are used to improve the availability of certain nutrients and, secondly, enzymes are used for the digestion of substrates that are not digested naturally by the animal or to eliminate the presence of certain antinutrients. Talking about MFeed+, it can lower the formulation cost by lowering the fishmeal inclusion, while maintaining a good performance with optimum cost effectiveness of the feed”, Mr van Schoonhoven explained.
