The event was a great opportunity to shed light on the Olmix Group’s most ambitious projects and the company’s professional relationship with the European Investment Bank.
Held in Vannes (France) on the 18th April and conducted by the reputed French journalist Mrs Anne Claire Coudray, ‘The Most Beautiful Bays in the World Congress’ brought together around 150 professional experts to discuss new ideas and concepts to promote environmental preservation and economic development of marine coasts.
Renowned by its ability to valorize and apply marine algae to develop new sustainable strategies and solutions for animal farming, agriculture and finally human health, Olmix Group was invited to participate in the congress to show how the company aims to build a Healthy Food Chain, Thanks to Algae!
“As a pioneering biotechnology company, research and development are a priority for Olmix Group. For more than 20 years we have developed innovative solutions from marine bio-resources, being algae the core business of the Group”, Mrs Danièle Marzin, Olmix Group’s Marketing Director, said during her conference.
“As a pioneering biotechnology company, research and development are a priority for Olmix Group”.
Algae are an exceptionally varied source of nutrients and particularly rich in different biologically active compounds. Thanks to new technological and advanced processes, Olmix Group is able to make the most of these natural resources, which have multiple applications as health ingredients.
“Marine algae are a renewable resource that does not require arable land or fresh water to grow. Besides, seaweeds extracts are a great source of ‘blue biotechnology’ because of their unique biological properties: immunomodulation, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and biostimulant, among others”, Mrs Marzin explained.
The Group’s ambition to make the most of these algal extracts and use their beneficial properties to improve the health of plants, animals and humans has led the company to develop a whole process to extract and valorize their extraordinary properties:
“Olmix Group has developed a whole biorefinery process that goes from harvest to the final product. Our great invest on innovative technologies has allowed us to deposit 20 different patents and to create new products for animal and human health and for vegetal nutrition”.

Lastly, Mrs Marzin shed light on the Olmix Group’s philosophy and strategies to reduce the use of antibiotics in animal production and to grow plants without pesticides as well as developing algae-based natural ingredients for the food, nutraceutical and human health industries:
“We aim to move towards a pesticide, chemical and antibiotic-free production, which means better health and well-being of plants, animal and humans. Our specific algae-extracts allow us to offer natural solutions within the animal care, plant care and human care sectors. We do think that it is possible to create a full and healthy food chain and that is our priority-one goal”.
