Supporting the natural physiological mechanisms of vines and fruit trees, our Seamel PREVENT solution has obtained PFC7* certification, in accordance with European regulation No. 2019/1009.
After obtaining the first PFC6 for our Agroptim LAGOON solution in 2023, we are taking a new step in our Vision 2030 & Beyond. This additional certification demonstrates the effectiveness of our solution in sustainably and profitably meeting the challenges of agriculture.
This certification covers all perennial crops for quality improvement, and vines for tolerance to abiotic stress (drought and heat).
Promote nutritional balance and stimulate plant growth to ensure fruit enlargement and ripening, while improving crop tolerance to water stress.
The full expression of the potential of vineyards and orchards can be hindered by physiological disturbances of various origins, such as nutritional imbalance, insufficient rooting, or climatic stress. The consequences are often visible during berry or fruit formation. They cause a loss of volume and a deterioration in crop quality.
The action of the Seamel PREVENT biostimulant is induced by the patented
R-SEALICA® technology, a combination of a red seaweed extract (Solieriaceae), rich in oligosaccharides and bioactive nutrients, and highly bioavailable, highly assimilable monomeric silica.
Applied as a foliar spray, these ingredients stimulate photosynthesis, growth, hormone synthesis, and cellular responses to abiotic stress. Sugar metabolism and nutrient transport are optimized, and cell walls are strengthened.
Seamel PREVENT, uncapped yields up to +55.5%!
The measured increases in marketable yield reach up to +27.1% on vines (average of +7.9% over thirteen microplot demonstrations), and +55.5% on apple trees (average of +15.5% over eleven microplot demonstrations).
In a water stress situation, an increase of up to +18.7% was measured in three microplot demonstrations (average +8.9%).
Ultimately, Seamel PREVENT improves qualitative characteristics for perennial crops and drought tolerance for vines:
- Increased photosynthesis and development of leaf biomass
- Increased absorption of water and nutrients
- Strengthening of cell walls and mechanical resistance of tissues
- Improvement of fruit development, weight, diameter, and firmness
When to use Seamel PREVENT?
The use of Seamel PREVENT is particularly recommended in the following situations:
- Vineyards and orchards with underexploited potential (insufficient yields, physiological disorders…)
- Orchards in a low alternation phase
- High fruit load
- Plots sensitive to water stress
- Objective of improving fruit quality and preservation
Seamel PREVENT is a foliar spray solution and is compatible with most plant protection products, in accordance with good spraying practices. The recommended dose is 3 L/ha, applied 3 to 8 times depending on the physiological state of the crop, from the appearance of inflorescences (BBCH 50) to the end of ripening (BBCH 89) for all perennial crops.
What does European certification guarantee for biostimulants?
- the agronomic effectiveness of the solution based on numerous BPE trials (Good Experimental Practices)
- the implementation of quality control processes during manufacturing in our factories
- the regulatory compliance of raw materials
- the accuracy of information provided to users with labeling
* PFC7: Combination of a non-microbial plant biostimulant PFC6-B and a micronutrient fertilizer PFC1 (zinc sulfate and copper sulfate)
